THE HOLLYWOOD "ELITE": Somehow I missed this before but it certainly struck a nerve once I heard it. It's from the Hollywood crowd who are completely against any military action in Iraq under any means. While I personally am against the war as it stands now, I believe we are justified in attacking Iraq if we find weapons of mass destruction. Sadam has broke so many UN resolutions that it is time someone enforces them and he is a danger to his country and to the surrounding region. Many people talk about maintaining "stability" in the region and how military action will cause "instability", but despotic dictactors do not maintain "stability"...ever. Remember that Nazi Germany was once a very "stable" regime in Europe as it murdered 6 million Jews. In any case, these Hollywood elite seem to be against any kind of action whatsoever, because...well because I really don't know why. But they're better than you. And you're just a bunch of sheep.

I love this remark from Ed Asner...

"Asner was critical of the American public as well, for its support of Bush's approach to Iraq.

"They're sheep," he said. "They like him enough to credit him with saving the nation after 9/11. Three thousand people get killed, and everybody thinks they're next on the list. The president comes along, and he's got his six-guns strapped on, and people think he's going to save them."

Pardon my French but the Hollywood "elite" has it's head so far up its ass that it's hard to believe. They seriously have lost all touch with reality.

Guys, we know you can entertain, but when it comes to politics, you don't know jack shit so please shut the hell up.
THE FALL OF BIG MEDIA: An excellent column by the one and only Glenn Reynolds up at Tech Central Station. The comparison is pretty valid and one that I never even would have thought to consider. Glenn's smarter than I am so I guess that's understandable. Anyway, here's the money quote:

I wonder, though, if the Big Media people do understand it. Like the armored knights of the Middle Ages, their position has been a function not of their own inherent virtues, but of a particular economic and technological confluence that is now passing away. And I believe that much of what's being marketed as "digital rights management" to prevent "stealing" of big-media works is in fact intended to serve as "digital restrictions management" to protect big-media operations from competition by making life harder on potential competitors.

I think they're doomed, technologically. But if Big Media let their position go without a fight to keep it by fair means or foul, they'll be the first example of a privileged group that did so. So beware.

Exactly.
FINALS SUCK PART DEUX: I finished my first 2 finals this morning, one at 8:30 in the morning and the other at 11:20 (ugh). The courses were Industrial Economics and Public Economics. And yes, the finals were as hard as they sound.

But I did well in case you care. Boo-yah!

MOOREWATCH: Somehow I missed this site earlier. It shows how self-absorbed, self-righteous, and elitist Michael Moore truly is and the extent that he will go to impose his agenda on everyone. Stay tuned: I'm sure I'll be linking to this site often.
FINALS SUCK: Unfortunately for me, it's finals time which means blogging will be down a bit for the rest of the week. I'll try to update when I can, but since I like getting A's and not F's, please pardon the limited posting.
MY THOUGHTS ON LOTT: It seems like everyone these days on the Blogosphere is giving their two cents about Trent Lott. So being the natural leader...err...follower that I am, here is my 2 cents on the issue.

Trent Lott said some stupid things. Very stupid things. And while it's unfortunate, Trent Lott is going to have to step down because he said those stupid things. While politicians have always been known to make obscure or seemingly insensitive comments, often unconsciously or by mistake, Lott's remarks go even beyond this. Lott's remarks are some of the most damning words spoken by an American politician that I have read in quite some time.

We live in a politically correct society. However, I think most sensible people are trying to break down the PC barrier. The PC barrier only leads to self-censorship, reduces debate to name calling, and is for lack of a better term: stupid. No one should have to qualify their statements ever time they're utterred with, "I'm not a racist but...," or "I have nothing against gay people but...". Unfortunately for politicians, they do have to be politically correct. They are the leaders of our political establishments. They are supposed to represent us. They are supposed to represent our ideals and our values. Visit any liberal or conservative blog, or peruse any newspaper and Lott is being bashed left and right (no pun intended). Seeing as how many of Lott's own party members no longer wish to associate him, Lott is a dead man, at least politically.

LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, YOUR NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER: Former least favorite President and terrorist appeaser Jimmy Carter received the Nobel Peace Price this week. Not everyone thought he was so deserving.

On a side note, the bastion of peace that is Yasser Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994.
YOU DON'T SEE PEOPLE DOING THIS TO GET OUT OF AMERICA: It's hard to believe the extent that people will go to in order to escape Communism.
POLITICAL COMPASS: Where do you stand on the "political compass"? I'm in the libertarian right, at coordinates (6.5, -2.67) right about where I figured I would stand. Take the test. It's quite interesting.

GUNS, GUNS AND MORE GUNS: Rachel Lucas (yes, a gun toting woman!) shot some stuff the other day. And no, she didn't hurt anyone. So contrary to what Michael Moore will tell you, there are law abiding gun owners. Ironically, Michael Moore is one of them.

Anyways, so while seeing as how I'm a libertarian and hence an advocate of legal self-defense (read: owning a gun), I still never really plan to own a gun myself. Heck, I've never even held a gun before. I just know that I'm safer from crime in a world where other law abiding citizens are packing heat.

Note to criminals reading this and planning to rob me: I do own a paintball gun and if one of you assholes tries to rob me, then I'm not afraid to let it loose. Those things hurt you know.
UH OH: This man is about to lead a war?!?

This was probably doctored but I thought it was funny nonetheless.
